Silence demands a tent

Chelsea is Methodist, and Marc is Jewish.  They got married Saturday under a chuppah made of greenery.

Did Chelsea know the reason she could not say her marriage vows in Marc’s synagogue is because a woman must remain silent?

Did Chelsea realize that he could come down to her level to meet her in marriage under a tent, but that she could not go up to his level and meet him in marriage in a synagogue?

How long will it be before your church demands that you get married in a tent because your voice is offensive in a church?  Well, maybe never.  Income from renting the sanctuary, you know.

Hypocrites!  We choose what keeping silent means.

Chelsea was not even an Equal, but.  She just plain wasn’t equal.

Here is a neat post called “Stitches in the Veil” talking about the separation certain men are trying to make between God and women/children.

It sort of puts the, women be silent, arguement to complete shame. That is, it puts it to shame for anyone with eyes to see and ears to hear what God’s true purposes are on this earth.

Those determined to greedily guard their own power base won’t give two licks because they love power more than God and people, breaking the two greatest commandments.

As in her parents’ marriage, I suspect that Chelsea will wear the pants and call the shots.

I have no worry that Mr. Mezvinsky will lord anything over her.

(Full disclosure: I worked for Ed’s grandfather in high school.)

Correction: I worked for Marc’s grandfather, Ed’s father.
